About Us
We are a body of believers committed to worshiping and serving Jesus Christ. As a Southern Baptist Church, we join with likeminded Christians in spreading the gospel around the world. Christ reached out to people of all ages and backgrounds and at Central Baptist Church we desire to do the same. That's why you'll discover here ministries geared to various life stages and needs. That's why we have a place for everyone to worship, study the Scriptures, fellowship together, grow in discipleship, and minister to others through numerous ministry opportunities. Our church believes in the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures (Luke 16:29-31; 2 Timothy 3:15-17); in the preexistence (John 1:1-18), the incarnation (John 1:14) through the virgin birth (Luke 1:31-32) and essential deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 John 5:10); in His substitutionary and atoning death (1 Peter 2:24) providing redemption through His shed blood, and His bodily resurrection (John 20:1-10; 1 Corinthians 15:12ff); in His ascension (Acts 1:10; 2:36) and exaltation into heaven; His present mediatorial (1 John 2:1) High Priestly office; in the gift of the person and work of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-10); and, in our Lord's personal and visible return and His kingdom and reign (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17). We are composed of persons who profess to have been born again (John 3:3) and who have been immersed in water by a proper agent upon their profession of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord (Acts 8:36-39; Matthew 3:5-6; John 3:22-23). We are committed to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and to the purposes of the church as revealed in Scripture: worship, discipleship, fellowship, evangelism, and ministry. We want you to be a part of the blessings of God in the life of our church.
